Vata

Vata is the dosha that governs air and ether, or “space”. It controls all movement and flow in the body: everything from batting an eyelash to the flow of blood. Vata governs communication: it is concerned with both discussions between people as well as transmissions within the body. Vata is known as “The King of the Doshas” because without it all other doshas would not be able to do their work. 


Physical:
  • Thin, slender build
  • Susceptible to cold
  • Fast talkers
  • Quick walkers

Character:
  • Bright and alert
  • Curious
  • Happy go-lucky 
  • Learns things easily and forgets things easily
  • Quick
  • Flexible 
  • Earn and spend money quickly

Vata imbalances may manifest as:
  • Nervousness
  • Anxiety
  • Feeling tired but unable to relax
  • Constipation
  • Indecision
  • An inability to focus
  • Dry skin
  • A strong aversion to noise

Ways to balance Vata
  • Limit/avoid stimulants
  • Consistent bedtime
  • Exercise regimen
  • Regular meals
  • Limit foods that are dry, pungent, bitter and astringent 
  • Include foods that are sweet, salty and sour
  • Keeping warm
  • Establishing a routine

my primary dosha is VATA - both as an adult and kid,
according to your nofty little flow chart.
Pitta is my 2nd - also as a kid & adult.

The more things change, the more they stay the same ;P
